INFORMATION: MILITARY TRAINING SUPPORT

AGOG combines nearly three decades of practical effects and specialist engineering experience to design, manufacture and deliver physical solutions for military and first responder training. Working alongside training teams, we introduce realistic conditions into live exercises while maintaining control of the effects and equipment.

Our capabilities include wind, rain, smoke, fire, sound and pressure effects, casualty simulation, physical damage, mechanical rigs, reactive training equipment and bespoke builds. These can be combined to reproduce the weather, atmosphere, damage and close-action conditions that influence decisions and responses under pressure.

Rather than moving trainees between isolated effects, we integrate physical conditions into the scenario as it develops, allowing instructors to observe decision-making, communication and response while maintaining a controlled and repeatable exercise.

AGOG’s approach draws on experienced supervision, engineering, testing and the management of high-energy physical effects. Our work has taken us to 32 countries across five continents, supported by more than £2 million of specialist effects, engineering and production equipment.

For environmental and equipment testing outside training exercises, our engineering capabilities also support AGOG Dynamic’s mobile wind and climatic testing services.

PLANNING LIVE TRAINING SUPPORT

AGOG can become involved at concept stage or work alongside an established training plan. We collaborate with training leads, exercise planners, engineers, designers and delivery teams to develop practical effects, equipment and specialist builds around the training objectives.

We are accustomed to short lead times, changing requirements and the practical demands of live exercises. Our approach typically includes:

Understanding the requirement — Reviewing the training objectives, exercise plan or trial requirements to identify where physical conditions, close-action effects, equipment or specialist builds can add value.
Developing the approach — Outlining suitable effects, equipment, structures, environmental conditions and interfaces with existing systems.
Site assessment — Meeting relevant stakeholders to assess access, operational requirements, safety, control and practical constraints.
Budget and logistics — Preparing an outline budget covering equipment, materials, personnel, transport and timing.
Agreeing the scope — Establishing responsibilities, constraints, deliverables and contractual arrangements.
Design and preparation — Designing, manufacturing, adapting or sourcing the equipment, rigs, structures and devices required, alongside insurance, risk assessments and third-party arrangements.
On-site delivery and support — Managing deployment, operation, resets, reconfiguration and recovery, including international shipping and cross-border logistics where required.
